Nucleic Acids were first discovered in 1868 in pus cells. They are present in all living cells as well as in viruses. They perform very important functions of the cell. They are composed of smaller molecules, known as Nucleotides. Two types of Nucleic Acids are Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) & Ribonucleic Acid (RNA).
